“Verily, Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty. He loves the loftiest of affairs and disapproves of pettiness.”

P1: The universe contains objective, widespread, and often unnecessary beauty in nature, mathematics and the structure of physical laws. (e.g. symmetry in physics, fractal patterns in nature, elegance in equations like Euler’s identity.)

P2: If something exhibits objective and purposive beauty, and especially if such beauty is not functionally necessary, then it is reasonable to seek a personal, intelligent cause behind it. (This follows the principle of sufficient reason and teleological intuition.)

P3: The beauty found in the universe far exceeds what is needed for survival or function. (e.g. the nebulae’s colors, the aesthetic structure of galaxies, the elegance of physical laws.)

P4: Naturalistic explanations (e.g. evolution, physics) may explain some patterns of beauty functionally, but they cannot account for:

  • The universality of beauty across non-functional contexts

  • The mathematical elegance of physical laws

  • The human capacity to recognize, appreciate, and be moved by beauty

P5: If naturalism cannot fully account for beauty, but theism can, then theism provides a better explanation. (Inference to the Best Explanation)

P6: Theism posits a Creator who is:

  • al-Khāliq (The Creator),

  • al-Badīʿ (The Incomparable Originator),

  • al-Ḥakīm (The Wise),

  • and al-Jamīl (The Beautiful One who loves beauty).

P7: If beauty exists in a way that is best explained by a personal Creator who values and wills beauty, then such a Creator exists.

C: Therefore, the beauty of the universe is best explained by the existence of a transcendent, personal, intelligent Creator namely, God.
