Did the Prophet, May God Bless Him and Grant Him Peace, Steal Anything
Some fools claim that the Prophet of God, may God bless him and his family and companions and grant them peace, stole something. The matter can be summed up in the reason for the revelation of the noble verse.
It is not for a prophet to take spoils. And whoever takes spoils will bring what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then every soul will be fully compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged. [Al Imran: 161]
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God Almighty be pleased with them both, he said: This verse was revealed on the day of Badr: “It is not for a prophet to take spoils of war” [Al Imran 3:161] regarding a red velvet that was lost on the day of Badr. Some people said: Perhaps the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, took it. Then God Almighty revealed: “It is not for a prophet to take spoils of war” [Al Imran 3:161].
This trace from Ibn Abbas was narrated by Abu Dawud in Sunan, as well as by Al-Tirmidhi and Al-Tabarani in Al-Mu’jam Al-Kabeer, and in its chain of transmission is Khusaif . Ahmad bin Hanbal said : His hadith is weak and not a proof , and Ibn Hajar said about him : He is trustworthy but has a poor memory. Regardless of that, this is one of the most stupid doubts I have seen in my life. The Qur’anic text is clear in denying the doubt, as Allah the Almighty exonerates His Messenger, saying: {And it is not for a prophet to take spoils of war} meaning to conceal anything from the spoils. So the doubt is denied from the beginning, and there is no need to reject it, but it is okay.
The liars said that some people accused the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, of stealing this velvet, and we ask: Where is it mentioned in any of the narrations of the incident that someone said that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stole it from the beginning?! .. The velvet was among the spoils, so if we assume that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) took it, this is not theft from the beginning, because he has a right to this spoils. However, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would not do that, and Allaah is far above taking anything from the spoils before they are divided.
Al-Baydawi said:
{And it is not for a prophet to take spoils of war}. It is not right for a prophet to betray the spoils, because prophethood contradicts betrayal. It is said that he took something from the spoils of war, he took it secretly, and what is meant by this is either the innocence of the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from what he was accused of, as it was narrated that a red velvet was lost on the day of Badr , **so some of the hypocrites said that perhaps the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) took it, **or the archers thought so on the day of Uhud when they left the position for the spoils and said, “We fear that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) will say, ‘Whoever takes something, it is his’ and not divide the spoils of war.”
This is what some of the hypocrites said. So what is their proof for this?!
If this is your argument, then there is no objection to saying that Jesus was crazy [Mark 3:21 “He is mad.”] And there is also no objection to saying that Jesus was insane, possessed by demons and delirious [John 10:20 “He was demon-possessed and delirious.”] And there are many texts on this.
The apostles were accused of false and false accusations. They said about Jesus, peace be upon him, that he was the son of fornication. Do you believe them?!
That is enough here, for this is a suspicion that does not deserve a response. But who is the one who steals?!
Mark 11/2 says: “And he said to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. So untie it and bring it .
Imagine yourself, my honorable brother, the owner of this colt, and you find someone coming and untieing the colt and taking it and walking. By God, what would you do with it?!” What is even worse is that Jesus said, ” And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this? ’ you will say, ‘The Lord has need of it. ’” “Then he sends him here immediately .” So imagine, my beloved brother, if someone told you that the Lord needs him … So what will you do with him?! .. I leave the judgment to the wise ..
No wonder, Jesus is the extension of Jehovah Sabaoth, about whom Jacob said: For (Elohim) has taken away your father’s livestock and given it to me {Genesis 31/9} .
He is the son of Jacob who stole the blessing from his brother Esau .. The full story is in Genesis 27:35
Then he [that is, Isaac said to Esau]: Your brother [Jacob] came with deceit and has taken away your blessing .
