Is the Mattaron (The Great Angel of Jehovah) Really God as the Ignorant Christian Children Claim

5 min read 1018 words

Christians are trying hard to prove the doctrine of the Trinity from Jewish books, although this pagan doctrine is strongly rejected by the Jews and was not originally stated in their holy book.

The Christian heretics claim that the Mattaron, the angel of Jehovah for the Jews, is a god, and the Christians add that he is the Messiah!

If we assume that the Christians’ words are true, which is that the Mattaron is a god for the Jews, then what is the evidence that he is the Messiah?

But the truth is that the Jews do not believe that he is a god, but he is an angel of God, and the Christians acknowledge this title, so how can the angel be a god when the Talmud mentioned that he is God’s representative, so how can he be God!

Rather, we find that the word is feminine among the Jews, Matrona, and is used to refer to the lady of the house, and the word among the Jews is synonymous with the meaning of the messenger among the Greeks, as shown in the text. So the Mattaron is the greatest angel sent by God as His representative, and He gave him great authority and power like the ones He gave to the messengers and angels, and he is not a god among the Jews as the ignorant Christians claim!

Jewish texts and source sheets about Metatron from Torah, Talmud and other sources in Sefaria’s library. Metatron is an angel mentioned several times throughout apocryphal, rabbinic, and kabbalistic literature. He is occasionally presented as a heavenly scribe. In two of the three instances in which he appears in the Talmud, his character prompt…

I heard one of the preachers sitting and smoking with the rabbis who are leading the defense of Christianity, lying to his sheep followers and claiming that the Talmud says that one of the rabbis saw Metatron sitting in heaven, so he is God (the Messiah as they claimed!! And he claims that this is the opinion of the Jews and the Talmud, hahahahaha😂

The response to these fraudsters is that the Talmud did not say that this statement is true and it is not the opinion of the rabbis or the Talmud, but rather the opinion of an innovating rabbi named Elisha ben Avuya. This statement is mentioned in the Talmud Hagigah 15a,

which states that this innovating rabbi, that is, the infidel in our Islamic language, saw Metatron (who had previously proven that he was an angel)

and saw him sitting in heaven, so he claimed that there are two powers in heaven and that this angel has an independent power and controls the universe. This rabbi did not say that Metatron is the Messiah at all!

Then the same source says that the angel (Metatron) was struck with 60 rods of fire and expelled from heaven and became involved with this rabbi because he did not He confronted him when he claimed that.

Have you seen how liars and deceivers these Christians are?

As for the word (Memra)

, it is an Aramaic word used in the Targum of Jonathan ben Uziel instead of the word Jehovah because the Jews, as we know, do not write the name of their god Jehovah, so they express it with anything else. Some express it with Ohaim and Adonai, so Jonathan replaced Jehovah with Memra, so it is a distortion of the name of the Lord. However, the Jews have justifications for not pronouncing and writing Jehovah that are not appropriate now. The important thing is that this substitution was by Jonathan.

So what is the meaning of Memra?

Its meaning in Aramaic is the word of God, so he used it instead of Jehovah because he believes that the quality of the Lord’s speech is the effective power, so the greatest way to express the Lord is to express it with the quality of His speech, but he did not believe that the memra is a divine hypostasis and that He is the Messiah.

The Christians try to link between memra and Logos.

First of all, we reject what Jonathan did, not because he supports the Christian belief, but because he changed the Torah with his action.

In fact, the Aramaic word memra is equal to one of the correct meanings of the Greek word logos, which is the spoken word of God, and does not mean the pagan, invented meaning of the word, which is the speaking mind of God, which was first said by the pagan Heraclitus, and that was hundreds of years before Christ.

We do not have a problem with the Christians linking the meaning of memra to logos, nor with the Christians calling Christ logos, but our problem with them is that they say that the Jews believed that memra is the awaited Messiah. We also reject their interpretation of the word Logos and what it means to call Christ that

. The truth, as John intended, if we think well of it, is that Christ is Logos means the Word of God, i.e. the one created by a word from God. In this case, we will accept that Christians call Christ Memra as an Aramaic translation, just as they call him the Word of God as an Arabic translation of Logos. This title will not benefit the divinity of Christ, as it is like the title Gabriel, which means the power of God, and Ishmael, which means the hearing of God, and others. However, the problem will be between the Jews and Christians because they do not call Christ Memra, which means the Word of God, whether in the correct Islamic meaning, i.e. the one created by a word from God, or the Christian meaning, i.e. that he is the mind of God and that he is a divine hypostasis.
