Isn't the Example of the Caterpillar and the Butterfly Evidence of Evolution

“Isn’t the example of the caterpillar and the butterfly evidence of evolution?”

I’ve been asked this question more than once: “Isn’t the example of the caterpillar and the butterfly evidence of evolution?” Simply put, brothers: The caterpillar is a worm-like creature, and there comes a stage where it enters a cocoon… But does it transform directly into a butterfly?! No, of course not. Rather, the caterpillar is digested and decomposed by digestive enzymes, to the point that if you pierced the cocoon, you wouldn’t find the caterpillar, but rather a liquid sap. First, the caterpillar digests itself, releasing enzymes to dissolve all of its tissues.

What’s next? There are specialized enzymes that direct the construction of the butterfly from that sap. What does this have to do with evolution?! Evolution stipulates the development of one organism from another through random mutations… Did this happen in the example of the caterpillar and the butterfly?!! Absolutely not. Even the enzymes precisely direct the construction of the butterfly, and not randomly. Let’s return to genetic similarity and deny its use as evidence of origin. We said that genetic similarity does not indicate origin. The caterpillar and the butterfly are 100% genetically identical, yet one organism is the same, and the other is a completely different organism. You might say, “Isn’t the origin the same?” Who said that?! The caterpillar comes directly from the butterfly, while the butterfly comes from the production of soup by the action of directed enzymes after the caterpillar decomposes. They are two different organisms.
