The only source on earth that is recognized by the churches is the Gospel of Matthew… where it says that this Jacob is the son of Matthan (Matthew 1:15 ) .

The Bible dictionary did not mention anything about Jacob, the father of Joseph the carpenter, as if he were an unknown person, but it mentioned that Jacob’s father’s name was Matthan and he was one of Jesus’ ancestors.
