Muhammad Calls 36 Hypocritical Companions by Name
The Great History - Al-Bukhari - Part: 7 - Page No.: 22 100On the authority of Ibn Masoud = that the Prophet said: Among you are hypocrites, so whoever I have named, let him stand! So thirty-six stood up, and he said: Among you are hypocrites, so ask Allah for well-being. Then Umar passed by a masked man whom he knew, and he said: What is the matter with you? So he told him what the Prophet had said, and he said: May you be far away for the rest of the day. Abu Nu`aym said on the authority of Sufyan on the authority of Salamah on the authority of a man on the authority of his father - Sufyan said: I think he is Ayyad ibn Ayyad on the authority of Abu Masoud. And Qubaysah said: Ayyad ibn Ayyad on the authority of Ibn Masoud

First: The impostor does not know the meaning of the term “companions” among Muslims, or he knows - and this is my assumption - but his hatred has blinded him from being fair, so he says that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, calls 36 of the companions (hypocrites)! This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, as if he is saying that everyone who was a contemporary of Jesus, peace be upon him, was also among the disciples - i.e. among the companions of Christ - including the Jews who brought him to trial and those who thought they had hung him on the cross. Companionship, according to Muslim terminology, is used to describe everyone who saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, during his life and believed in him - remember: believed in him! - and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, died while he was pleased with him. Therefore, everyone whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, named and counted among the hypocrites, did not originally enter into the description of that companionship. Perhaps he will understand!
The hadith is clear and explicit…the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was delivering a sermon to a group and the narrator of the hadith did not say that he was delivering a sermon to the Companions only…as the forger claims.
Second: We have said repeatedly that the society of Medina and the Arabian Peninsula after Islam was an open society in which there were polytheists, people of the Book, hypocrites and others. Allah the Almighty informed His Prophet and the Companions and informed us of this. The existence of hypocrites in Medina is not a hidden secret until the forger revealed it with his genius or brilliance. We have said repeatedly that any society, when a few dozen or even a few hundred thousand are extracted from it as evil, that society will not be harmed. Rather, the harm will be when they are not extracted and left to destroy the structure of society. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was guiding the Companions and directing them to the believers and righteous people and warning them against the hypocrites who wanted to destroy Muslim society.
