Leviticus - Chapter 25, verses 44 to 4 6

44 But your male servants and female servants who shall be yours shall be from the peoples who are around you. From them you shall buy male servants and female servants . 45 And also of the children of the inhabitants of the land among you, of them you shall acquire possessions, and of their families who are with you, whom they beget in your land; and they shall be your possession. 46 And you shall give them as an inheritance to your children after you, as a possession; you shall make them slaves forever . And as for your brothers, the children of Israel, one man shall not rule over another with violence.

Here comes the text ” you shall make them slaves forever” in order to block the path of the false interpretations that will say that this was in the Old Testament. The text ” forever ” means until the end of the world, that is, the Lord commanded the Jews to follow this method and to enslave people and own them as property to be inherited by their children forever, that is, until the end of the world.

For a quick comparison, we will mention only two verses from many in which the Qur’an calls for the liberation of slavery and its release, so that the difference becomes clear and obvious:

“Zakat expenditures are only for the poor and the needy and those employed to collect [zakat] and those whose hearts are to be reconciled and to free captives and those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the wayfarer - an obligation imposed by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.” (At-Tawbah 9:60

) Likewise,

“Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah and the Last Day.” The Last Day and the angels and the Book and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for Him, to relatives and orphans and the needy and the wayfarer and those who ask and for the freeing of slaves and establishes prayer and gives zakah and those who fulfill their covenant when they have made a covenant and are patient in poverty and hardship and at the time of battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and those are the righteous.

In the Book of Zechariah - Chapter 14 - Verse 1 and 2 :

1 Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil will be divided among you. 2 And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city will be taken, and the houses will be plundered, and the women will be disgraced, and half the city will go out into captivity, but the remnant of the people will not be cut off from the city .

And we find the English text

Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of them.

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished ; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city .

The expression ” disgrace their women ” is a compassionate translation of the feelings of believers. The English word ” Ravish ” means rape , and women are generally disgraced only by rape. As we see, although this punishment was directed at God’s chosen people, the Lord planned and arranged for Jerusalem to be invaded, looted, and its women raped.
