Throne of God Has Lanterns Hanging on It and the Spirits
d to us, Jarir and Isa bin Yunus, all of them on the authority of Al-A’mash. H. And Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr narrated to us, and the wording is his. Asbat and Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, they said: Al-A’mash narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Murrah, on the authority of Masruq, he said: We
asked Abdullah about this verse:
“And never think that those who are killed in the way of Allah are dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, and they are provided for.
” He said: “As for us, we have already asked about that.” He said: “Their souls are in the bodies of green birds with lanterns hanging from the Throne. They fly about in Paradise wherever they wish, then they return to those lanterns. Then their Lord looked at them and said: ‘Do you desire anything?’ They said: ‘What thing?’” We desire and we roam in Paradise wherever we want. So he did that to them three times. When they saw that they would not be left without being asked, they said, “O Lord, we want you to return our souls to our bodies so that we may be killed in your cause once again.” So when he saw that they had no need, they left.
He said: Yahya bin Yahya and Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah told me - and he mentioned his chain of transmission back to Masruq - he said: We asked Abdullah about this verse: { And never think that those who are killed in the way of Allah are dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, and they are provided for }. As for us, we asked about that, and he said: Their souls are in the bodies of green birds.} Al-Maziri said: This is how Abdullah came
without being attributed. Abu Ali Al-Ghasani said: Some people attribute him and say: Abdullah bin Omar. Abu Masoud Al-Dimashqi mentioned him in Musnad Ibn Masoud. Al-Qadi Iyad said: It appears in some copies of Sahih Muslim (Abdullah bin Masoud). I said: This is how it appears in some reliable copies of our country, but it is not attributed in most of them. Khalaf Al-Wasiti, Al-Hamidi, and others mentioned it in Musnad Ibn Masoud, and this is correct. This hadith is attributed to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, because he said: We asked him about that, and he said: meaning the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
#Reply to: Glorification and praise around the throne like the sound and buzz of bees
: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Among the things that you remember of the majesty of God are glorification, declaration of His oneness, and praise. They circle around the Throne, making a buzzing sound like the buzzing of bees, reminding one of their companions. Wouldn’t any of you like to have or continue to have someone who reminds him of them?
Al-Hafiz said in Al-Fath : It is used and means to persevere in doing what God has obligated or encouraged.
Al-Razi said : What is meant by remembrance of the tongue are the words indicating glorification, praise and exaltation.
- Remembrance with the heart : contemplating the evidence of the essence and attributes and the evidence of the duties of commands and prohibitions until one becomes aware of their rulings, and the secrets of the creatures of God Almighty.
- Remembrance with the limbs : to become absorbed in acts of obedience.
Remembrance has the
following etiquette :
- Facing the Qiblah if sitting, and sitting with humility and calmness with dignity.
- Having a clean mouth and removing any impurity with the siwak.
- Contemplating what he says.
So how can a Christian adhere to the etiquette of remembrance if they have knowledge of something called the etiquette of remembrance while sitting on the seat inside the bathroom, as Kafir pointed out? Then where will he focus his attention?!
It is permissible to remember Allah in all circumstances, whether while walking or while lying down, in accordance with the words of the Truth, the Blessed and the Most High:
( Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, or lying on their sides ) Al Imran 191.
Allah the Almighty said: ( So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me ) Al Baqarah 152.
Allah the Almighty said: ( O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance ) An-Nisa 103.
On the authority of Abu Musa Al Ash’ari, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: ( The example of the one who remembers his Lord and the one who does not remember his Lord is like that of the living and the dead )
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (The single men preceded and said: Who are the single men, O Messenger of Allah? They said: The men and women who remember Allah often )
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, and Abu Sa’id Al Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, that they bore witness that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: ( A people do not sit remembering Allah except that the angels surround them, mercy covers them, and it descends upon them.) Tranquility and their remembrance of Allah among those with Him )
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is the master of those who remember Allah and the best of those who remember his Lord…
His speech was remembrance, his sermons were remembrance, and
his fatwas were remembrance. The best thing is remembrance… The honor of those who remember Allah is that when they remember Allah in this world, He remembers them in the heavens.
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: ( Among the things that you remember of the majesty of Allah are glorification, praise, and thanks. They circle around the Throne, making a buzzing sound like the buzzing of bees, remembering their owner. Wouldn’t any of you like to have (or continue to have) someone who remembers him? )
Remembrance is a light for the one who remembers in this world, a light for him in his grave, and a light for him in his afterlife, walking before Him on the path. Hearts and graves are not illuminated by anything like the remembrance of Allah Almighty.
Remembrance is the pinnacle of gratitude, and Allah Almighty is with the one who remembers.
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him:
” Allah Almighty says, ‘I am with my servant when he remembers me and his lips move with me .’

Allah the Almighty said: “Everything will perish except His Face. To Him belongs [all] judgement, and to Him you will be returned.” [Al-Qasas: 88] This is evidence that the angels die as others die. Al-Manawi said in Fayd al-Qadir 3/423: As for the angels, they die according to the text and consensus, and the Angel of Death is in charge of taking their souls. The Angel of Death dies by the power of Allah, the Giver of Life and Death.
There is no authentic text detailing and describing the death of the angels. It is one of the matters of the unseen in which nothing can be confirmed except by an authentic text, because news of the unseen is only taken from the Qur’an or the authentic Sunnah
. Everything is transient. Everything is gone. Money and prestige; authority and power; life and enjoyment. This earth and those on it. Those heavens and what is in them and those in them. This entire universe, both that we know of it and that which we do not know… all of it. All of it. Will perish, and nothing will remain except the Eternal Face of Allah. He is unique in His existence, He decrees as He wills and rules as He wills. No one shares His judgment with Him, no one can prevent His judgment, and no matter can stand in His way. Whatever He wills is what exists, and no one else can. There is no escape from His judgment, no escape from His judgment, no refuge apart from Him, and no escape.
And God knows best.
