Jesus’ followers often come to tell us that Jesus is God because he says, ” You are from below ; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world .” John 8:23 .

And since the Bible says, ” A fool believes every word, but a prudent person considers his steps .” We must pay attention and ponder. Let us come together to know what is meant by this phrase from the Bible:

1What does Jesus mean by the word from above (born from above)? ” Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Marvel not that I said unto you, Ye must be born from above .” John 3:7. That is, whoever is baptized in repentance and follows the inspiration of the Holy Spirit has been born from above.

  • Jesus here means by the birth from above, that is, baptism with water, the baptism of repentance that exists with John the Baptist, ” the baptism of repentance ” and following the revelation that the Holy Spirit descends with. This is explained by the words of the Book of Acts of the Apostles, ” Can anyone forbid water , that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit as we have ?” Acts 10:47

  • These are the characteristics of the heedless and the one who resists the revelation that the Holy Spirit descends with? So Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their dead.” Are there dead people who walk on the earth and bury their dead? Jesus means those who are heedless of God’s revelation and are interested in the world. ” You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. ” Acts 7:51

  • Jesus was baptized with water, ” And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water. ” Matthew 3:16

  • and with the Holy Spirit, ” But Jesus returned from the Jordan, filled with the Holy Spirit .” Luke 4:1

  • So Jesus was born from above because he was baptized with water And he was filled with the Holy Spirit , ” Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again. ’”

  • Jesus is not alone in being baptized with water and the Holy Spirit. But there are countless numbers who were baptized with water and the Holy Spirit. They were born from above. They are from above.

  • As for the phrase ” You are not of this world ,” Jesus gave it to the disciples, ” You are not of the world .” John 15:19. Are the disciples God?
