You Are From Below, I Am From Above. You Are From This World, and I Am Not From It

Christians say that this text confirms that Christ is different from us humans, and that he is not from this material world but rather from above and that he descended to earth from heaven. All of this indicates that he is a god who descended and became incarnate .

Let us analyze and see… Christ said these words about his disciples as well, and we see in John 15:19: If you were of the world , the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world , therefore the world hates you , and in John 17:14-15 Christ says in his prayer for the disciples :

I have given them your word, and the world hates them, because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world . I do not ask that you take them out of the world , but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world

Do we say that the disciples are also gods because they are not of the world ???

But the correct meaning is… I am not from the children of this world, that is, those who rely on it, are content with it, and desire it, but rather I am from the seekers of God and the Hereafter, who have no attachment or love in their hearts except for God. I am from the people of the upper, holy world , the world of the pure and the angels, because it is my direction and destination, and from it I came with the message of God and to it I return after delivering it. So his expression is a kind of metaphor, and this is a common and well-known metaphor. You often hear it said that so-and-so is not from this world , meaning that he does not live in this world and does not care about it or its temptations, but his only concern is God and the Hereafter only. And this is the case with the disciples. Otherwise, the disciples would be his gods, and this is false.
