Although Ahmad ibn Hanbal said about Sharik that he was trustworthy, the majority considered him weak. Ibrahim ibn Saeed al-Jawhari even said that he made mistakes in 400 hadiths. Even al-A’mash, from whom Sharik narrated the hadiths, made mistakes about him, as Abu Dawud said.

Let us assume, for the sake of argument, that the statement of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, is correct, and that Ali ibn Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, is not included in it, as he said: (The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade temporary marriage on the day of Khaybar, and the meat of domesticated donkeys…) [Sahih Muslim (1407)]. Let us also assume that it is correct or good, as what is meant by temporary marriage is the temporary marriage of the two pilgrims during Hajj. And God knows best.
