Deception No. (21)_ Some of My Friends Do Not See Me After I Leave Them

3 min read 480 words

On the authority of Umm Salamah, she said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf came to her and said: O mother, I fear that my abundance of wealth will destroy me, for I am the wealthiest of the Quraysh. She said: O my son, spend, for I heard the Messenger of God say: Among my companions are those who will not see me after I leave them. So he went out and met Umar and told him. Then Umar came and came in to her and said to her: By God, am I one of them? She said: No, and I will never destroy anyone after you.

First: “The hypocrites were, as it appeared to people, among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, because they prayed with him in his mosque, but when hardships came, their matter would become apparent by inventing excuses. So what is meant in these texts by those among his companions who did not see the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, are those hypocrites who would outwardly appear to be Muslims but conceal their disbelief, and would wish to find any stumbling block or opportunity to eliminate Islam and its people.” From the Encyclopedia of Sermons and Lessons, p. 4. This is indicated by the question of Al-Farouq Omar, may God be pleased with him: Am I one of them? It was said to him: No, and what is very strange for the mudallis, and what he does not know is that the one who informed Al-Faruq that he was not among those who were prevented from seeing the Prophet on the Day of Resurrection in the narration of Umm Salamah, and he was not among the hypocrites in the narration of Hudhayfah - may Allah be pleased with them and all the companions - they were rather companions, and it is known that they were among those who heard from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so they transmitted what they had of knowledge without forgery or concealment, even if that which was transmitted was speaking about the companions themselves, or even if it was speaking about the person himself.

Secondly: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, intended by these hadiths a group of hypocrites who were infiltrating the Muslims and appearing to be among the companions of the Prophet, but they were not, and their matter was revealed successively during the life of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, until the day of the Battle of Al-Usrah, when they were sifted through a sieve and shaken severely, so the companion was known from the hypocrite.

We have responded to the accusation of the mudallis against the companions in the matter of their religion repeatedly, so there is no need for more.
