Prophet’S Marriage to Safiyya (Quick Version

6 min read 1238 words
  • One of the doubts that Christians like to repeat is the doubt of “the marriage of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to our mother” Safiyyah bint Huyayy, may God be pleased with her!

They claim that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, killed her husband, took her captive, and raped her while she was in her waiting period!!

To respond to their ignorance and lack of understanding, I say, and God is the Grantor of success:

  • First: The Christians deceived, as is their custom, and distorted the qaf with a damma in the word (qattala) and made it with a fatha, so that the people who are being deceived would think that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the one who killed her husband with his own hand!

The original text is with a damma on the qaf (“and her husband was killed, and she was a bride”); the difference is great; but the distortion was necessary in order to deceive the common Christians!

  • What is proven in the books of the biography is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave them security and made peace with them on the condition that they would leave Khaybar and have whatever their camels carried. And for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, the yellow and the white, and they go out from it, and he stipulated that they should not conceal or hide anything, and if they did, then they would have no covenant or treaty.

So when it was proven that Kinanah, Safiyyah’s husband, broke the covenant and pact; the covenant and treaty were absolved from him; and his killing was due to his betrayal and his breaking of the covenant.

  • Second: It is funny when I hear the Christians object to the captives and the right hand’s possessions; because the right hand’s possession is the law of their book and Islam did not innovate it.

  • We read, for example, in Deuteronomy 20:14
, “But the women, the little ones, the livestock, and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as plunder for yourself. And you may use the spoil of your enemies which the Lord your God has given you.”

  • And in 2 Samuel 5:13
, “And David also took concubines and wives from Jerusalem after he came from Hebron, and sons and daughters were born to David.”
    …;
The law of captives and queens of the right hand was not invented by Islam; Rather, it was present in previous laws; until Islam came with the legislation of emancipation, correspondence, and freeing slaves, which was not present in any previous law.

If we applied the ruling of the Holy Book to Lady Safiyya, may Allah be pleased with her, she would have to be killed without mercy, because she was married!!

; as stated in Numbers 31:17

“Every woman who has known man by lying with a male, kill her. But all the children of the women who have not known lying with a male, keep alive for yourselves.”

Why did you object to her marriage to the head of the Islamic state and the leader of the Islamic nation, and why do you not object to the ruling of your book to kill her!!!

*Third: It is very funny that the Christians claim that the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, married Safiyyah before her waiting period had ended!!

Do the Jews have a waiting period, you lost sheep?

  • The Jews have a thing called (mourning), you who are more ignorant than animals, and its duration is only seven days..
The evidence is in 2 Samuel 11: 26-27
“And when Uriah’s wife heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband. 27And when the mourning was over, David sent and took her to his house, and she became his wife, and bore him a son.”

  • Tadros Yacoub Malti says in his interpretation:
(Bathsheba - with whom the Prophet David committed adultery - heard about the death of her husband - whom the Prophet David caused to be killed - so she mourned for him for seven days according to the ancient custom, then the Prophet David took her as his wife)

“mourning” and not “waiting period”, you people The greedy ones!

I wonder… when will you read your book?!! Despite that, it was reported in Sahih Muslim (1365) on the authority of Anas: “Then he gave her - meaning Safiyyah - to Umm Sulaym to make her for him and prepare her and observe her waiting period in her house.”

Al -Nawawi - may God have mercy on him - said: As for his saying “obtain her waiting period,” its meaning is: to purify herself; for she was a captive who had to be purified and placed in the house of Umm Sulaym during the period of purification. When the waiting period was over, Umm Sulaym prepared her and made her ready, meaning: she adorned and beautified her according to the custom of a bride. The Jewish historian Israel Wolfenson says in his book (History of the Jews in the Arab Countries) p. 172: (As for Safiyya bint Huyayy ibn Akhtab, she remained loyal and faithful to her new husband and remained with him as a faithful wife until he passed away to be with his Lord. In this action, the Prophet followed in the footsteps of the great conquerors, as they used to marry the daughters of the great men of the kingdoms they conquered to ease their suffering and preserve their dignity.) *Fourth: Let us leave Lady Safiyyah to talk about what happened to her; we read from Sahih Ibn Hibban 4628

The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, chose Safiyyah bint Huyayy and took her for himself, and gave her the choice between him freeing her and her being his wife or joining her family, and she chose him to free her and her being his wife

The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave her the choice, O Christians; and Lady Safiyyah is the one who chose the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, over emancipation and freedom; and any person who chooses between two options will certainly choose the better one, without a doubt. In a narration from Lady Safiyya in Majma’ al-Zawa’id, Vol. 9, p. 15, she said:

” I have never seen anyone with better character than the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace . ” So, Lady Safiyya is the one who chose to marry the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. So, you stray sheep, hold your tongues and stop claiming that you sympathize with her; she is innocent of you, by Allah. ----; *Finally: A text that is a prophecy was mentioned in Psalm 45:9 : “Kings’ daughters are among your concubines. The queen is set at your right hand with abundant gold.” So, I wonder… Has this prophecy, which occurred about 3000 years ago, been fulfilled in someone other than the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace ? Who is he, I wonder?
