Status of Women Final Part
.
Saint Augustine says: The woman is not the image of God, unlike the man who is the image of God, and if the woman does not submit to the authority of a man, she will remain the inferior, distorted mind, in contrast to the man who is the superior mind.
As Martin Luther says: The woman is not the master of herself, but God shaped her to belong to the man and to bear children.
And she is inferior to the man, as John Chrysostom said.

If women tire or die, it doesn’t matter, let them die, for they were created for that.
By God, women were created for pregnancy and cooking, not for anything else, and try to take women away from managing household affairs, you will find they are unfit for anything!
-Martin Luther

Saint Tertullian: Woman is the gateway to hell
-Saint Ambrose: The married should be ashamed of the state in which they live.
-Saint Clement of Alexandria: If a woman reflected on her nature, she would feel scandalized.

Saint Thomas Aquinas was suspicious of women and preferred to avoid them.
He believed that a woman is a helpless, weak creature, and that she is a “deformed male” or a male who failed to succeed.
Consequently, a woman is not the image of God, unlike a man, and he saw women as weak in mind, will, and body.

As for Saint Chrysostom or Jerome: the woman, in their view, is a necessary evil, a natural temptation, a domestic danger, a destructive allure, and an evil coated with charm.
The woman is the one who caused man to lose paradise, and she is the devil’s favored tool.
Saint Thomas Aquinas sees the woman as lower than a slave, subject to man due to the weakness of her mind and body, and not an image of God.

The woman in Christianity and according to the Fathers: an incomplete human or a deformed male, and the man is superior to her.
The woman is a creature midway between man and animals, and she is undoubtedly inferior to the man in nature, and the man is superior to her.

A wonderful comparison made by Saint John Chrysostom: between the woman and the animal, he concluded that the woman is an intermediate being between the animal and the man, and there is a distinction between her and the animal.
Just as the animal was created as a helper for the man, so too was the woman created as a helper for the man.
“For man was not created for the sake of the woman, but the woman for the sake of the man.” 1 Cor 11:9

But it is nonetheless useless for any work other than childbirth, as the angelic teacher said, and it is not fitting for a woman to undertake any work other than midwifery.

Paul emphasizes the necessity of a woman’s submission to her husband and her role as a helper, which should not exceed being submissive and a helper, and she is forbidden from teaching men; rather, she must adhere to being submissive and an instrument for procreation.

It was stated in the laws of Hippolytus:
The woman does not appear before anyone but serves her husband as a master, and does not contradict her husband in anything, even if she knows more than him.
Where has the time of beautiful submission gone?

(1 Timothy 2:12) (I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet) This Pauline text led to the ignorance of women for centuries
women for centuries
The reformer Calvin understands from it that the natural law of humanity is for her to be submissive to the man, and to be ignorant… How could it be otherwise when she is the gateway of Satan who fell into transgression and seduction

The role of a woman in relation to a man remains a secondary role, for the man has dominion over her (Gen 2:). Paul also emphasized the position of the woman and the submission it entails (1 Cor 11:7-9). Thus, the legal status of a woman is that of a minor and subordinate to the man, and she calls her husband “her baal,” meaning her master and her god.

Martin Luther said: A woman should not take on the task of teaching because she was created only for childbearing.
But I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence, (1 Tim 2:12).

The theologian John Calvin says: Woman was formed by nature according to God’s natural law to be submissive, for the sovereignty of women has always been, in the eyes of the wise, something abhorrent, and therefore, heaven and earth would be confounded if women were denied the right to education.

Paul imposed the head covering on women not for the importance of the head covering but for the importance of a woman’s submission to her man.

In the interpretation of Antonius Fikri: Here we find that head covering was an Eastern custom, but we see that the Apostle supports it as long as it does not contradict the Gospel… Honorable women used to cover their heads… It was found that a woman covering her hair brings peace and tranquility to the family. Therefore, let the woman submit to her husband in love and cover her head.

In William Barclay’s interpretation of First Epistle to the Corinthians
And in the days of Paul, the veil or the Eastern hijab covered more of the body than that, so nothing of the body was visible except the eyes. It never occurred to any respectable lady to go out without a veil, and he cited Davis’s dictionary (It is impossible for a respectable woman to go out in an Eastern village or city without a veil).

In the book The Comprehensive Ocean in the Bible and the Ancient East by Father Paul Feghali,
he says:
“It appears that women, in some cases, wore a veil covering their face or a shawl that draped over the shoulders and reached down to the back.”

In the Coptic laws of Hippolytus it is stated:
“And the virgins, when the time of their youth comes, shall cover their heads like the adults with their veils and not with a light cloth.”

The man #dominates the woman because the man did not originate from the woman, but rather the opposite. (That is, the woman was created for the sake of the man)

It was stated in the encyclopedia (Al-Dasquliyya) which contains the teachings of the Fathers and Apostles:
“Women must submit to their men, and the woman #let_her_submit to her husband because #the_head_of_the_woman is her husband … husband … Fear, O woman, y#and_be_shy_before_himy#and_please_himd_please_him alone after God.”

Do not adorn your face, which God created… Let your walk and your face be directed downward, and you, veiled, covered from every side… And if she covers her face, let her cover it with fear of men’s gazes.”

Saint Jerome says regarding the nature of women in the Bible:
“There is nothing more impure and unclean than a menstruating woman; everything she touches, she makes unclean.”

The Canaanite woman approached Jesus seeking help, and He answered her, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it #to_the_dogs
The scholar (Origen) comments:
“The Canaanite woman was not worthy of a response from Jesus #because_of_her_gender… but when she acknowledged that the masters are of the superior gender, she received a second response bearing witness to her faith, that it is great!”

Saint Gregory the Wonderworker in his literal translation, Ja7:28

And this is a translation of the meaning from one of the infallible saints of the church, revealing the absolute truth about women

Saint John Chrysostom wrote a letter to Theodore warning him of the dangers of marriage and women
“If you contemplated what those beautiful eyes and cheeks conceal, you would be certain that a woman’s body is nothing but a whitewashed tomb, its parts filled with #endless_impurities. If you saw a rag filled with filth, you could not bear to touch it, so how can you be aroused by a woman, the storehouse of such things?!”

From the Book of Joshua son of Sirach 42:13-14 (Jesuit Monastic Translation
“For from garments comes the moth, and from a woman comes a woman’s wickedness. A man’s wickedness is better than a woman’s kindness, for a woman brings ##shame_and_scandal”
We notice that in the Bible, a woman is corrupt by her very nature, and only a woman bears inherent corruption.

One of the great of the church (the scholar Tertullian said in a sermon to women:
“Do you not realize that Eve is you? The curse that God placed on your kind is still in effect at this time, so you must bear the burdens of guilt, and you the gateway of the, and you are the one who defiled that deadly tree, and you are the first who betrayed God’s law.”

According to the Bible, wine and women lead the wise astray and make the rational apostates.

Saint Jerome says: A man’s abstinence from his wife is the greatest honor to her.

The saint of the church (Clement of Alexandria) says:
“There is nothing shameful for the man whom God has endowed with reason, unlike the woman who brings shame and disgrace when contemplating her nature… And he also says: The woman brings disgrace to the man, even if only by revealing what nature she possesses.”

Saint Thomas Aquinas says: The voice of a woman is a call to lust, and therefore it should not be heard in the church.

The scholar Tertullian shows that the woman is the source of temptation and seduction, and she is guilty even if she did not intend it, saying:
“The woman who was seen by a man is accused of seeking to seduce him.

Saint of the Church (Gregory, Bishop of Tours) said in his book (Vita Patrum)
“Indeed, a woman is a dragon, that is, one of the types of demons .. and women are demons whose sole purpose is to dominate men)!!

-The woman in Christianity is a marginalized being with no value-
“There is no teaching or theory concerning the woman in the Holy Bible.

Saint [Ambrose] of the Church said about women that they are nothing but corrupt beings!!
📕
- Saint [Augustine] of the Church decided that there is nothing more dangerous to steadfast souls than the temptations of women!!

Marriage to a woman (a necessary evil)
As Paul says (It is good for a man not to touch a woman, but because of fornication, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband 1 Cor 7:2
The comparison here is between the evil of marrying a woman and the evil of addiction to fornication, and marrying a woman is the lesser of the evils, and in principle (It is good for a man not to touch a woman)

And Paul continues, saying (It is good for them is, men—to remain as I am—that is, without marriage—but if they cannot control themselves, let them marry, for marriage is better than burning) 1 Cor 7:8-9
Thus, marriage to a woman is only to ward off (burning) and the sexual repression that has reached its peak; otherwise, in principle, it is good for men not to marry women.
The doctrine of the Church Fathers is summarized in that marriage is (a necessary evil), permitted as a concession to human weakness, and it should be avoided if possible.
Saint Augustine says: Celibacy is preferable to marriage. Saint Ambrose comments: Celibacy is the life of angels. Saint Aptatus says: (Celibacy is a spiritual type). Tertullian says: (Happy is he who lives celibate like Paul).

Augustine summarized a general sentiment among the Church Fathers that the marital relationship is inherently repulsive, with Arnobius calling it filthy and degraded, Methodius deeming it improper, Jerome labeling it impure, Tertullian describing it as shameful, and Ambrose referring to it as defiled. The Church Fathers unanimously agreed that it would have been more fitting for the Lord to devise another means of procreation besides marriage!!

Pope Leo XIII said in the religious document (Immortaly Dei):
“Man was placed above woman”
🔶
There is no equality between man and woman; rather, the man is above the woman, and the woman is beneath him, submissive to him as a servant is submissive to his master.

And Martin Luther retained the prevailing idea that sexual intercourse between spouses is a sinful act in the eyes of God, but God covers the sin … and in Christianity, the child is conceived and born in sin.

Wrote ” John Calvin ” :
” That God has made the woman subject to the man as the body is subject to the head,
and this in his commentary on the letter to the Corinthians ‘For man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man’ (1 Cor 11:7).

The theologian (Karl Barth) declared that ontologically, a woman is subordinate to a man because he is the head of the woman.
📕
- The theologian (Dietrich Bonhoeffer) decided that women must submit to their husbands.

The theologian “Marcus Dodds” commented on the epistle 1 Corinthians 11:3
”This submission of the woman to the man is not only due to the Christian ecclesiastical order but also has its roots in nature.
📕
The pastor “Heinrich Meyer” inferred that Paul’s command for the woman to cover her head is evidence that she is under the authority of the man and must submit to the husband’s authority and his superiority over her.

The theologian (Henry Alford) declared in his extensive commentary on the Testament that the text of 1 Peter 3:1-7 addresses the complete scope of a woman’s submission to a man.
🔶
John Axel stated in his comprehensive commentary on the Bible that submission is a duty of the woman toward her husband.

It is stated in the collection of ecclesiastical law that a woman’s hair is a sign of her constant submission to man, and the long hair of women, with a natural veil, has been given as a symbol of their submission to men.

تفسير Wycliffe Bible
The Wycliffe Bible Commentary – The New Testament

The theologian John Calvin says: The divine law, from the beginning, has always placed the female gender under the authority of men #as an eternal punishment for them
And He said to the woman: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow in childbirth; in pain you shall bring forth children. Yet your desire shall be for your husband, and he #shall_rule_over_you.” (Gen 3:16)
And this is an acknowledgment that the intended submission is meant to punish and humiliate the woman.

The theologian “John Lux” said, speaking of the same meaning on behalf of the Lord:
“Because of you, humans became slaves to Satan, so I will make you a #servant to man, and your submission to him will be by force, for you have no mind or will, and your, will, and desires will be subject to the desire of the man of the man who will be your master and your domineering ruler, not only dominating your body but even your passion and will.”

Saint John Chrysostom said:
“The man rules, and the woman is submissive.
The woman covers her head, while the man’s head remains uncovered.
The man and the woman commit a sin if they violate the proper order and God’s teaching and exceed their boundaries, either #by_the_man_descending_to_the_woman’s_lower_rank
or by the woman elevating herself to the man’s rank…⏬”

…The greatest shame a woman can bring upon herself is to rebel and attempt to raise her lowly status to be equal with a man.
📘
One of the greatest pillars of the church and its infallible saints tells the Christian woman that if she demands equality with her master, the man, who is above her while she is beneath him, that is a sin in the eyes of the Lord and a shame, oh what a shame!
Saint Thomas Aquinas said:
“The image of God exists in man, not in woman, for man is the beginning and end of woman, just as God is the beginning and end of creation.”
📕
Man alone is the image of God, whereas woman is not so, and the greatest thing about her is to be something resembling her lord, man.

Saint Augustine of the Church said:
“The woman is not the image of God except when (the lower mind), which is the woman, is joined to (the higher mind), which is the man. If the woman does not submit to the authority of a man, she will remain (the distorted lower mind), unlike the man who, in any case, is in the image of God in which he was created from the beginning.”

The Christian stance on a woman’s intellect
Church Fathers unanimously agreed on the weakness of a woman’s intellect, describing her as talkative and superficial, according to Saint John Chrysostom, slow to understand, according to Saint Cyril, and lacking mental balance, according to Saint Gregory the Great.
The Fathers also agreed that a woman is naive, intellectually inferior, unworthy of education, and prone to heresy.

The Spanish theologian (Domingo Soto), whose statements represent the official doctrine of the Fathers, said:
“The female represents a natural obstacle that prevents receiving holy orders due to #her_me#her_mental_weaknesse naivety of her understanding.”

Saint Thomas Aquinas, commenting on Colossians 3:18, said:
The reason for a man’s authority over a woman is the function of the mind, for since a man’s mind is superior to a woman’s, he should lead her.
And Saint John Chrysostom wrote: The woman is a weak being, easily provoked, and light of mind.
And a woman must combine fear and silence, like a owned slave.
’

Saint Jerome, a church saint, argued based on what Saint Ambrose said, that it is better for a woman not to marry because marriage is a miserable state for a woman, imposing on her servitude to the husband and authority.

And if a woman marries and then her husband dies, and she wishes to marry again afterward, Saint Jerome says of her that she is a dog.

The church imposes penalties and prohibitions on a man who remarries after the death of his wife, as well as on a woman who remarries after the death of her husband, as they are punished with ecclesiastical penalties by being deprived of absolution and blessing.

It was mentioned in the Book of Revelation of John
“Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand… These are the ones who were not #defiled with women, for they are pure.)
In a clear reference that the woman is the source of defilement, and whoever mingles with her becomes defiled, and these pure ones are the virgins who were not defiled by marrying.
Saint Jerome says that David and those with him not have been able to eat the bread of the Presence if they had not answered that they had not been intimate with women for three days. Of course, what is meant by intimacy is not fornication but with their lawful wives. Similarly, when the people were about to receive the Law on Mount Sinai, they were commanded to stay away from their wives.

The Western world has exerted much effort in the past century to its contempt for women, but this contempt still persists in churches!
- Adrian Thatcher

If there are books in existence whose authors hold a more contemptuous view of women than the books of the Bible and the writings of the Church Fathers, I do not know them! … The woman, according to the doctrines of the Church, is a body
-Philip Rappaport

Saint John Chrysostom of the Church said: Among all the predatory beasts, I have not found any more harmful than a woman!

Saint Ambrose and Saint John say:
The only reason for the creation of woman is procreation!
📕
And Saint Augustine says: I see no other reason for which woman was created except for procreation
🪵
And all theologians agree that there is no other reason or importance for the creation of woman except that she is a means for procreation.

Martin Luther, the founder of the Protestant denomination, said: A woman is not the mistress of herself, but God shaped her body so that she belongs to the man and bears his children.
📕
Saint Jerome, a saint of the church, decided that the reason for a woman’s existence is procreation…

It is stated in the laws of the saints and apostles (the Didascalia): The woman has become subject to the man because she bears his children, and therefore it is forbidden for her to assume any priestly position, for the man is the head of the woman, while the woman is created from a member lower than the head. Is it not hypocrisy to abandon the head and proceed to the lower member of the body?!

Martin Luther, the founder of the Protestant denomination, said: A woman is not the mistress of herself, but God shaped her body so that she belongs to the man and bears his children.

Saint Jerome, a saint of the church, decided that the reason for a woman’s existence is procreation…

Saint Thomas Aquinas said in his commentary on Ephesians 5:22, “Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.”
“As to the Lord, because the relationship of a husband to his wife is like that of #the Master to his servant.
📕
Saint Augustine said: Marriage makes the man #the owner and the woman a possessed servant.
Therefore, she calls him master because he rules over her and subjects her to his authority, Genesis 18:12.

Every young Jewish man in the world stands in his morning prayer to thank God that He did not make him a woman, a slave, or a gentile.

Professor Mehall said: A. Do. Latour:
(The concept that a woman is something to be possessed led the early Church Fathers, such as Augustine, to believe that #a man beating his wife is a right granted by God, a duty incumbent upon him, and an appropriate way for the man to maintain his authority over her in accordance with ecclesiastical law.)

Since the time of Saint Paul, the church has played a complicit role in the mistreatment of women, and the church encouraged disciplining wives through beating. It was stated in the book (Rules of Marriage) by the monk Cherubino of Siena from the 15th century:
If your wife commits an offense, rebuke her harshly, dominate her, and intimidate her, and if that does not work, take a stick and beat her forcefully.
..Take a stick and hit her hard, for it is better to punish the body and reform the soul
The emergence of Protestantism did not prevent the spread of Christianity with laws for disciplining women, and Martin Luther considered himself a lenient husband because his wife received no more than a punch to her ear! If she was insolent, the rise of the Puritan doctrine led to the golden age of beating women with a stick

Disciplining the wife by beating is permissible in church legislation, as the theologian (John son of Abi Zakariya son of Siba’) stated that one of the conditions for a priest is that he be the husband of one wife and that his hand not be quick to strike … which indicates the permissibility of beating, since the objection is to unjustified and excessive beating, not to beating in general.

And this is what Anba Gregorius decided in his: where he stated that if a woman is rebellious and disobedient, it is permissible for the husband to discipline her with beating, just as he would discipline his son or daughter, until he brings her back under his authority and dominance!

The Bible’s legislation commands the cutting off of the hand of a woman who grabs the private parts of a man not her husband during his fight with her husband (Deut 25:11)

What is the ruling for a woman betrays her husband according to the church laws enforced for centuries?
A married woman who commits adultery with her slave is to be beaten, her hair shaved, her nose cut off, and she is to be banished from the city where she resides and stripped of all her privileges… An unmarried woman who has relations with her slave, if she has no children, is to be beaten and her hair shaved.

Marriage to a woman, as Paul says, is a source of trouble, exhaustion, and hardship, and therefore Paul advised the unmarried not to marry, out of compassion for them, to spare them from the evils of marriage and its consequences!

The Church Fathers warned against marriage, viewing it as an evil that is better avoided.
Saint Clement of Alexandria linked marriage with lust and evil… and determined that marriage is, in essence, an evil that was permitted as a concession to human weakness and as a concession for the sake of the “body’s ailment”… considering that the reproductive instinct is nothing but a disease…

And if a man thinks of marrying again after the death of his first wife, he turns into a vile animal, not a human. For a human, if he is drawn to cohabiting with women, as the theologian John son of Abu Zakaria son of Siba says, becomes by that one of the animals, not a human!

And for this reason, a Christian group emerged that held fast to the command of Christ: (And there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.) So they made themselves eunuchs, aspiring to the kingdom …
Take a sword to cut off the root of sin .. then after the cutting .. Christ has risen
This is part of the sacred ritual of castration so that they may attain the kingdom

The church teacher Tertullian depicted marriage and procreation as a pitiable weakness in the face of physical instincts, and he advised his friend not to remarry after his wife’s death, because a second marriage is a form of debauchery, while the first marriage is lawful debauchery!

The woman, as Paul says, is created for the man.
1Co 11:8 For the man is not from the woman, but the woman from the man.
9 And because the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man.
Girls do not inherit from their father in the Bible except in one case only: if the father has no male children. (“If a man dies and has no son, you shall transfer his inheritance to his daughter.”) Numbers 27
📕
Saint Thomas Aquinas says: The law did not stipulate that women inherit their fathers’ inheritance unless they had no male children.
Likewise, she does not inherit from her husband.

And this caused the man to be better and higher than the woman
Paul says
“But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.” (1 Cor 11:3).
And for this reason, a woman cannot be equal to a man, as Paul continues and says:
“For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of man.” (1 Cor 11:7).
And this is because the woman was deceived and not the man, as Paul says:
“And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and fell into transgression.” (1 Tim 2:14).
Therefore, Paul always treats the woman as to the man and demands her submission to him, just as slaves submit to their masters and as a servant submits to the Lord.

A woman during her menstruation is impure and impurifies everyone around her
And there is nothing more impure than her, as she is like a virus that threatens everyone

If a woman gives birth to a male, she is impure for one week, but if she gives birth to a female, she is impure weeks. A woman is not permitted to go for the baptism of a male child until 40 days after the birth, whereas a female child is baptized 80 days after the birth… because the impurity that afflicts a woman from giving birth to a female is double that which afflicts her from giving birth to a male!

And a father can sell his daughter as a maidservant, like any commodity that is bought and sold!!
And if a man sells his daughter as a maidservant, she shall not go out as the male slaves do.” (Ex 21:7).
Divorce from a woman only occurs due to the issue of rana, and whoever marries a divorced woman, he becomes rani. Thus, every divorced woman is raniyah… and in this, there is great injustice and severe insult to the divorced woman!

And the woman, according to the Book of Zechariah, is evil and symbolizes evil
”And there was a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah, and he said, This is evil This is evil!

And among the advantages of a woman’s presence in the Bible is she is used as a heater in the cold 🙂

And the Lord in the Second Book of Samuel likens women to cows and sheep, describing David’s many wives as numerous cows and sheep, and likening Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite, to a ewe!

The woman in Christianity is a second-class being

The entire Bible and the Christian religion make the man the first and the last in everything
In the home and the church

The saint of the church, Clement of Alexandria, said
“Every woman should feel ashamed because she is a woman.”

Saint “John Chrysostom” decided that God established the patriarchal system in which the man has authority over the woman because he fears that the woman might harm herself, as the woman is the cause of the original sin that led to the fall of humanity, both male and female.
“Martin Luther” decided that the woman is “half a child” and therefore, the man must care for her as he cares for children
And “Martin Luther” also said: “When the devil saw that Adam was superior to the woman, he did not dare to tempt him, for he feared his attempt would not succeed … Therefore, he directed his attack toward Eve, considering her the weaker and inferior party.”!!

The man is the master of the woman, who in turn is submissive to him… and it is not fitting for a woman submissive to a man to address him by his bare name… and therefore, the First Epistle of Peter commands the woman to call her husband [my lord], just as the holy women of old also adorned themselves, being submissive to their husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him “her lord.”

One of the Church Fathers, Origen, commented on the phrase of Paul: “For it is shameful for a woman to speak in the assembly” (1 Corinthians 14:35), saying: “It is not fitting for a woman to speak in the church, no matter what she might say, even if she speaks with wonderful words and holy phrases; simply because it comes from the lips of a female.”

Femininity, according to the Church Fathers, is [ deficiency ], while masculinity is [ perfection ]. If a woman wishes to rise from feminine deficiency to masculine perfection, she must deny her deficient feminine nature!!
For this reason, Saint [ Clement of Alexandria ] demanded that a woman deny her feminine nature in order to become like a man!!

The church saint “Columkille” declared a religious legislative rule that it is not permissible to bury women near the church, considering this to be the custom of the church and Christianity since its inception.
I said: In the religion of the church, a woman is of low status, alive and dead, and she bears shame, disgrace, and impurity from her birth until she dies.

It was stated in The Woman’s Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets: “It has recently been proven that ‘although this was erased from most of the church’s historical records, the Christian church had a record of practicing and ordering the physical torture of women’…
It was mentioned in the book Rules of Marriage by the monk Shrobinu al-Sinawi
When you see …
When you see your wife committing a transgression, reprimand her harshly, dominate her, and frighten her. If that does not work, take a stick and beat her forcefully, for it is better to punish the body and reform the soul.
The Russian Pope ordered the use of a whip to strike a woman instead of a wooden or iron stick that might cause paralysis or death. The Pope says: “Stick to the whip and choose carefully where to strike.”

Martin Luther said:
The holy scriptures and experience teach us that there is not one among many thousands of women whom God has granted the grace to maintain pure grace.
God created her body to be with a man, to bear offspring, and to raise them; as the scriptures stated in Genesis 1.

What is the Bible’s stance on women?
Father [ Paul Al-Faghali ] answers us:
“The Bible’s judgment #is harsh on women; she is the seductress and the harlot who sets traps and lays snares, accustomed to betrayal, skilled in seduction, and a chattering, quarrelsome woman devoid of understanding.

The thirteenth law of the Gangra Council stipulates that:
A rebellious woman who abandons her husband and defies his authority shall be cursed!

The worship of women for men in ancient Vatican Bible manuscripts:
“O women, submit with obedience #andworship your husbands
Just as the church of believers submits to and worships the Lord Christ, so too must women 👈 submit and obey their husbands in all circumstances.”

Saint Thomas Aquinas declared, commenting on the text of Colossians 3:18: O women, submit to your husbands as is fitting in the Lord. “The reason for the man’s authority over the woman is the function of reason; for since the man’s reason is stronger than the woman’s, he ought to lead ought t

Saint Cyril of Alexandria declared that a woman’s mind is inferior to a man’s, saying: Truly, it is not a lie for one to say that women’s minds are feminine and that they have a feminine soul, so they cannot comprehend quickly. However, a man’s nature is somewhat more inclined to learning and more prepared for the exercise of thought, as they have a mind alert to wisdom.

Saint Augustine says: About the Canaanite woman, “She was neither provoked nor angered because she was called a dog when she sought the blessing and asked for mercy, but said: Yes, Lord.” You have called me a dog, and in truth, I am so, for I know my title!!!

The ecclesiastical legislation adhered to by the Orthodox Church emphasizes that a woman must stay in her home; for example, it is stated in the “Apostolic Canons” that a woman should obey her husband, fear him, honor him, and remain in the home without leaving it, while caring for the children. She is not permitted to go out except when going to church or with her husband to visit a sick brother.

The teachings of the apostles and saints stipulate that a Christian woman must remain in her home and not leave except for necessity.
“Let her sit in her home and not go to the houses of the believers for reasons … and the virgins, too, shall not go out to any place nor proceed to the place of strangers, and likewise also the widows.”

Saint Epiphanus declared: that women are a defective and reckless gender, unworthy of trust, easily provoked, and weak in intelligence. When the devil saw that women were less intelligent than men, he approached them and made them spread foolish teachings.

Saint Irenaeus declared that the natural and divine law place the woman in a rank lower than the man!

The Christian philosopher from the sixth century, Boethius, wrote in his book The Consolation of Philosophy: “A woman is a temple built over a sewer of filth.” The bishops at the ecclesiastical Council of Macon debated whether women have souls, and in the tenth century, Odo of Cluny Abbey declared, “To embrace a woman is to embrace a sack of manure.”

And Saint Thomas Aquinas declared that the Lord erred in creating woman, saying: “It was not fitting to create anything at the beginning of the foundation that has a defect or deceit, therefore it was necessary not to create woman at that time.” And the Lutheran Wittenberg discussed and questioned “whether women are truly human creatures.” And the Orthodox Christians considered women responsible for all sins and transgressions.

A young man complained about his mother to Saint Augustine, and he said to him: Beware of the seductive woman whom we must beware of in any woman, even if she is your mother!

The mind of a woman is characterized by weakness, instability, and ease of provocation, this is what Saint Cyril the Great tells us, and this trait includes even Mary, the Mother of God.

The woman in the Bible is considered the property of the man, as she was created for him (Gen 2:18, 23). Therefore, the Bible makes the man the head of the woman (1 Cor 11:3-9).
In the divine order, the man’s authority over the woman is based on his precedence in creation, so the woman falls so the woman falls among the man’s possessions and has no inheritance in the presence of a male.

According to the Epistle of Peter, a woman must call her husband (her baal) or (adon), meaning her lord and god, and address him as a servant addresses her master. For this reason, the Ten Commandments list a man’s wife among his private possessions, side by side with his ox, his donkey, and his land (Exodus 20:17 - Deuteronomy 5:21). The wife does not inherit from her husband, nor do daughters inherit from their father.

The Torah distinguished between male and female children, so a daughter could be sold as a maidservant or concubine to a man, and her status was lower than that of a son.
