The God of the Bible Is a Failure at Counting
Ezra 1
7 Now King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods.
8 Cyrus king of Persia brought them out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them for Shesh-bazzar, the prince of Judah.
9 And this is the number of them: thirty gold basins, a thousand silver basins, twenty-nine knives,
10 thirty golden cups, silver cups of the second kind, four hundred and ten, and a
thousand other vessels. 11 All the vessels of gold and silver were five thousand four hundred. All of them Sheshbazzar brought up when the captives were brought up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
This chapter tells us that King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of the Lord, which were
30 gold basins,
1,000 silver basins,
29 knives,
30 gold cups,
410 silver cups,
1,000 other vessels.
The total of these vessels is 2,499. Ask any elementary school student,
but we find that the God of the Christians and Jews says that the total number of all the vessels of gold and silver is 5,400.
If an illiterate person who cannot read or write does not know, this would not be a mistake.
