Content of the Doubt
The infidels who deny the Sunnah are trying to tamper with Islamic rituals by changing their times. Some of them even want to adopt the solar months instead of the lunar months as the timing for Islamic rituals such as fasting, zakat, and Hajj!!
Response to This Ridiculous Suspicion
Firstly:
God in the Holy Quran has informed us that the lunar months are the basis for determining the times of people and Hajj, as God Almighty says:
They ask you about the new moons. Say, “They are measurements of time for the people and for Hajj.” [Al-Baqarah 189]
( Al-Ahla) is the plural of (Hilal) , and the crescent appears at the beginning of each lunar month to separate the months from each other. Thus, we will know the months, the sacred months, the Hajj months, and the month of Ramadan.
The verse is clear and explicit in determining the times by the crescent moon. We do not need the nonsense of the infidel deniers of the Sunnah who worship the West, implement its satanic schemes, and distort the meanings of the Holy Qur’an according to their moods and the moods of Westerners.
secondly:
In the Holy Quran, you will find that God used the word (miqat) to mean something that specifies a time or something related to a specific time. For example:
God Almighty said:
“So the magicians were gathered together for the appointed time on a known day.” [Ash-Shu’ara’ 38]
Indeed, the Day of Separation is their appointed time, all together. [Ad-Dukhan 40]
They will be gathered together for a known time on a known day. [Al-Waqi’ah: 50]
Indeed, the Day of Decision is a fixed time. [An-Naba: 17]
Third:
Some of those who deny the Sunnah ask and say: What is the meaning of the time mentioned in the words of God Almighty:
And when Moses came to Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “My Lord, show me [Yourself] so I may look at You.” He said, “You will never see Me.” [Al-A’raf: 143]
I answer this simple question and say:
If those who deny the Sunnah had read the verse in its context and read the verse that precedes it, they would have understood the meaning of the time mentioned in the verse.
God Almighty says in verse 142 of Surat Al-A’raf:
And We appointed for Moses thirty nights and completed them with ten, so the term of his Lord was completed as forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, “Take my place among my people and do right, and do not follow the way of the corrupters.” [Al-A’raf: 142]
The word (miqat) here means the specific time that God set for Moses after the forty nights.
The “Lam” in the word “limeeqatna” is the “Lam of time” or “Lam of timing”, and means “when” as it is known in grammar. This type of “Lam” appears in several verses in the Quran, such as the “Lam” in the word “li-duluk”, meaning “at sunset”.
God Almighty said:
{Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its zenith] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur’an of dawn. Indeed, the Qur’an of dawn is ever witnessed.} [Al-Isra’ 78]
The Prophet Moses came at the appointed time, and that is why the Qur’an mentioned the phrase: “And when Moses came to Our appointed time .”
It was also mentioned in the words of God Almighty:
And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointed time. [Al-A’raf 155]
What is meant by the time in the previous verse is the time that God set for the seventy men to come to Him.
- The following is mentioned in the simplified interpretation:
[ And Moses chose from his people seventy men for Our appointed time .] That is, Moses chose from his people seventy of the best of them, and he went out with them to Mount Sinai for the time and place that God had promised him that he would meet them there .
- The book (The Easiest Interpretations) states the following:
[ For our appointed time: that is, for the time we had set for him to come to us with seventy men. ]
Fourth:
One of the deniers of the Sunnah cited as evidence the places ( Dhu al-Hulayfah, al-Juhfah, Qarn al-Manazil, Wadi Muharram, Ya Lamlam, Dhat Irq ) which are also called the times of Hajj. Then this denier asked: Why are these places also called the times of Hajj?!
I Answer This Simple Question and Say
These places are called “mawaqeet” (meaning “times”) because they mark the time at which the pilgrim begins to enter ihram. Whenever the pilgrim passes through these places, he begins to enter ihram. Ihram is the first pillar of Hajj.
Hence, it becomes clear that the word (miqat) means specifying the time or what is related to time.
Fifth:
The infidels who deny the Sunnah want to destroy Islam and tamper with its laws. That is why you will find those who deny the Sunnah inventing new timings every so often. For example:
This year (2024 AD) I saw one of the infidel deniers ordering his followers to start fasting on one of the days of October, even though Ramadan had passed some time before that.
And this year (2024 AD), I saw another one of the infidel deniers claiming that December 21st is the only day a Muslim should start fasting, and this filthy denier was quoting the trivialities of the ancient pagans instead of citing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet.
This is the reality we see before our eyes from these deniers. You should know that most of these deniers are actually atheists at heart, and some of them are Jews, Christians, Alawites, and Druze who hide behind fake accounts to deceive Muslims. Some of them create multiple online accounts to fill the internet with their delusions and mislead Muslims.
The strangest thing of all is that those who deny the Sunnah are ignorant of the Arabic language. In fact, some of them attack the Arabic language in order to cover up the scandal of their ignorance of the Arabic language and to cast doubt on the language of the Holy Qur’an.
So far, I have completely refuted the suspicion.
