The Abrogator and the Abrogated by An-Nahhas - Part 1, Page 450
396 - On the authority of Mujahid, regarding the words of God Almighty: “The adulterer shall not marry except an adulteress or a polytheist.” He said: “There were prostitute women, and among them was a woman called Umm Muhazzam. A man would marry one of them so that she would spend on him from her earnings, but God Almighty forbade them from that, that any of the Muslims should marry them.”
(2) Prostitutes = the plural of baghi, which is the adulteress who openly commits adultery and earns money from it.

This is an authentic hadith according to the conditions of the two sheikhs, but they did not include it.

**Response to deception
First: People differ in nature, whatever their religion or belief, and not every male is a man. Manliness in pre-Islamic times is like manliness in Islam, like any other time and place and under any belief. For example, some men accept to marry a fornicator, some accept to sell their wives, and some do not marry a woman who looks at men with lust. In all of this there is a difference in nature. But in Islam, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught us that men seek women for marriage for several reasons. Some marry women for their lineage and status among people, some marry women for their lineage, family and people, some marry women for their wealth, and some marry women for their religion. Then he told us: “Then marry the one who is religious.” This was the legislation that Allah was pleased with and that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to follow. “A woman is married forfour reasons: her wealth, her lineage, her beauty and her religion . So marry the one who is religious, may your hands be blessed. ” Sahih al-Bukhari 5090. As for some men proposing to a woman for money or something else, and they are Muslims in belief, this does not mean that Islam commands or calls for it. Second: These incidents that the forger has taken out of context occurred when Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, forbade Muslims from marrying adulteresses who brag about adultery and fornication. This matter is well-known and famous among most nations, ancient and contemporary. When some people converted to Islam and were influenced by the pre-Islamic era, with its cuckoldry and lack of jealousy, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, taught them that a Muslim marrying an adulteress is impermissible. This was the legislation of Islam.
Third: If some Muslims disobeyed the commands of Allah and the teachings of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, this would not mean that Islam commands this, but rather it would mean that this person is not committed to Islam. Fourth: If one person from every nation made a mistake, we would generalize the ruling. We would rule that the nation that gave birth to Judas are traitors, and the nation that gave birth to Hitler are murderers, and so on. However, an incident cannot be generalized unless it is approved by the society in which it occurred or the religion they follow. Fifth: We will cite some of the reasons for mentioning this incident: Abd bin Hamid, Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi who authenticated it, Al-Nasa’i, Ibn Jarir, Ibn Al-Mundhir, Ibn Abi Hatim, Al-Hakim who authenticated it, Ibn Mardawayh, and Al-Bayhaqi narrated from the hadith of Amr bin Shu’ayb, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, Sunan Al-Tirmidhi 3177, who said: There was a man called Marthad, who used to carry captives from Mecca until he brought them to Medina, and there was a prostitute in Mecca called Anaq, and she was a friend of his, and he mentioned a story in which he said: So I came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I said: O Messenger of God, should I marry Anaq? He did not respond to me until the verse { The adulterer marries not except an adulteress } ( An-Nur 3 ) was revealed.
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “O Marthad, {The adulterer marries not except an adulteress or a polytheist. And the adulteress, none marries her except an adulteress or a polytheist. And that has been forbidden to the believers.} So do not marry her.” Ibn Jarir narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Amr regarding the verse, he said: They were well-known women, and a man from the poor Muslims would marry a woman from them so that she would spend on him, but Allah forbade them from that. Abu Dawud narrated in his Naskh, Ibn Jarir, Ibn al-Mundhir, and al-Bayhaqi on the authority of Ibn Abbas:
It was revealed about openly prostitutes who were in the pre-Islamic era and were polytheistic adulteresses, so God forbade the believers from marrying them .
