Maryam (Ra) Being Married to Joseph the Carpenter Argument
Trying to justify their claim of Maryam (RA) being married to Joseph the carpenter , Qadianis claim that the word أحصنت in Ayah 21:91 and 66:12 could imply that she was married , which is linguistically false.
The word literally means prevented/guarded/ protected.

The word محصنة is used with different meanings as the protection comes in different contexts like chastity , marriage or freedom and here you can see the same word used with 3 different meanings in the same Ayah.

They also claim that all scholars in the history of Islam agreed on that the word محصنات in Ayah 4:24 means married which is also false.
Here Al-Tabari mentioning that ‘Ubayda Ibn Amr and Tawus Ibn Kaysan who were distinguished fuqaha’ from the Tabi’in interpreted it as chaste

Al-Tabari himself said that the wordمحصناتin this Ayah has the original linguistic meaning of protection/prevention which includes all the other usages and gave examples of each usage.
and he explicitly mentioned that the word in Ayah 66:12 and 21:91 about Maryam(RA)means chaste.
