The Doctrinal Importance of the Text
The sentence represents doctrinal importance as it comes amidst numbers that are closer to philosophical and Buddhist texts than to religious texts, as it contains the idea that the body is the origin of all evil and the origin of all pain. Although it did not mention Nirvana, the main goal of those texts was to invalidate the law of the Lord in the Old Testament and to pave the way for the era of grace based on what is spiritual, not physical, or you can say based on the heart and feelings, far from the mind and the defined! Strangely, Psalm 119:1 blesses those who walk in the law of the Lord, saying, ” Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.” We do not know if the plan of God, the Lord of hosts, changed from the law to salvation by redemption suddenly, or if it was planned in advance. Of course, the deleted sentence is repeated in Romans 8:4, “that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit,” confirming the deleted meaning. We do not believe that it has doctrinal importance, except that the phrase “(He approaches this people with his mouth)” is naturally redundant with the phrase that follows it ”( and honors me with his lips)”, and therefore if the first phrase is deleted, the meaning remains as it is, so the phrase is unnecessary .
